King of the Lake

The “King of the Lake” series is the premier Salmon Tournament on the great lakes and Team Striker is now a three time champion, winning the title of “King of the Lake” in 2007, 2008, and 2009!

About the series from the tournament organizers:

“It has been ten years since the first fish was pulled from the water for the inaugural Scotty Tournament Series. Since that day, King of the Lake has evolved into a brand that fishermen trust, coming to expect a fantastic weekend at all of our events. What began as a small two-person operation has steadily transformed over the years, growing in all aspects.

Where there were once pro-rated prizes and hand-written results on the leader board, there is now an electronic scoreboard synced to a state of the art weigh-in system, as well as increased purses, guaranteed over the season. These features of King of the Lake are simply unmatched by other tournaments, a statement echoed to us frequently by the anglers at our events. Through years of development, King of the Lake has become a premier salmon fishing tournament on the Great Lakes.

This is a rare and unique tournament set-up, but the number and caliber of anglers we have attracted proves that there is a demand for something diff erent. After an extremely successful season last year, we are off ering a guaranteed $220,000 over five events.

The interest amongst anglers for the 2009 series has never been higher. Our aim is to double the amount of boats we had last year, attract even more sponsored teams and to simply keep improving the King of the Lake, building strong relationships with anglers, sponsors and local communities”
